Ariens Zero Turn Reviews – 19HP Kohler 6000 Series V-Twin
Sick of falling for overrated brands that sell substandard lawn mowers?
Well, like you, I too have been there, and as the owner of a garden pruning company, I’ve had my fair share of blunders.
Especially when it came to buying lawn mowers online.
Sure, many products get rave reviews online but turn out to be utter disappointments when put to test.
You might be thinking I‘m a very difficult man to satisfy; well that might be true on some days, but when it comes to gardening tools, I try to keep an open mind.
It’s rare for any mower to tick all the boxes in my checklist, but the Ariens Zoom 34 Zero Turn Lawn Mower surprisingly did just that.
I recently got to use it for ornamenting the gardens at an old age home, and I was absolutely sold!
But does that mean that this lawn mower would be right for your needs?
Let’s find out.
Ariens Zero Turn Mower Reviews
Why can the Ariens Zoom 34 Zero Turn Lawn Mower be your pick too?
The Zoom 34’s ease of use and user-friendly features are what sets it apart from the rest of the competition. But that doesn’t mean we should overlook the rest of its ingenious build, which in my opinion, keeps the mower fast, stable and efficiently accurate when in use.
Quick, Powerful, and Precise
When I first used the Ariens Zoom 34 Zero Turn Lawn Mower, what caught my eye was how powerful the engine was. The professional-grade KOHLER 19 HP 6000 series V-Twin engine can help you efficiently trim out any small to medium-sized spread with ease.
The durable Xlerator 12-gauge deck is crafted out of a single piece of steel and is engineered to provide maximum airflow that delivers superior and accurate cuts. I was pleasantly surprised when I was able to complete my work at the old age home much earlier than expected.
And what really made short work of the lawns are the 2 blades that have a unique cutting width of 32-in. This allows me to mow more grass in fewer passes, hence reducing the overall cutting time.
A great lawnmower is defined by how versatile it is regarding utility and build. And this is one area where the Zoom 34 truly shines.
Its Hydro-gear EZT Transaxles come with a 1-in axle shaft is designed to produce increased torque. No matter what mowing conditions you may be facing, the mower will not slow down even a bit.
With a simple step, the inclusion of the easy to use foot operated deck lift lever will help you adjust different cutting heights from 1.5-in to 4.5-in increments.
Quite convenient, isn’t it? I thought so too.
A Convenient and Stable Body Design
Not only is the Zoom 34 sleek and attractive to look at, but its body design also goes a long way in keeping the mower durable for an extended period of use.
For increased stability, Ariens Zoom uses a 4-point Professional deck hanging system that will give you a stable ride and consistent grass cutting performance.
Perhaps you are concerned about the mower being too big for your lawn. Then let me put all doubts at ease and assure you that the mower’s in deck design is capable of fitting through standard gates. It is powerful enough to handle medium sized yards with ease.
White Glove Shipping and Part Check
As an additional perk of goodwill to their customers, Ariens offers white glove delivery services. The zero-turn mower will be shipped to your local Ariens authorized servicing dealer before home delivery for set-up and inspection.
The inspection includes the operator’s manual confirmation, tire pressure check, fluid level check, test start unit and finally, file warranty registration information.
What can Ariens improve in the Zoom 34?
Well, we can’t always have our cake and eat it too. There are always cons to pros. And here are some of the grey areas in my opinion:
- The mower would have had a much better selling point if its range of use extended to field sizes bigger than medium ones.
- The extra mulching blades that can be added to the mower could have been of a better build. I found them to be completely ineffective when I was mulching and vacuuming the lawn.
- Even with the much-needed feature of the turning radius, the steering at times felt sluggish over certain terrain.
- The deck seat did not feel comfortable enough for long hours of work.
- Powerful engine that’s perfect for trimming medium-sized grass
- Incredibly well-built body design
- Great customer support from the company
- Suitable for both home and commercial use
- Low-quality mulching blades
- Price could have been more affordable
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the mower only for professional use?
The Ariens Zoom 34 is also built for regular backyard use and not just professional yards, as it is designed for both small and medium fields.
Can the mower work on inclined surfaces?
Only if the angle of inclination is below 15 degrees. The traction will not support if it’s above that criteria.
Will it allow me to mow in reverse?
Unlike most mowers, the Ariens Zoom 34 will allow you to mow in reverse at a pace of 3 MPH. But always be aware of obstacles behind, and a reverse mow should only be done when absolutely necessary.
Is a bagger kit available?
Yes, a bagger kit is available with this model.
Can it fit through a 35-inch door?
No! The Zoom 34-in mower has 36-in deck, and the inner spec includes a 42-in spring loaded discharge chute which can be replaced with a mulching kit. The rough measurement of the rear wheels comes to 36 1/8 inches only because the tires flare out from the rim a little.
The Ariens Zoom 34 Zero Turn Lawn Mower is perhaps one of the most user-friendly and versatile gardening tools I have ever used. It has flaws like most products do, but they’re nothing that might hamper your mowing experience. And believe me, I’ve mowed a lot of lawns back in my days!
This might not be the most economical product in the market, but the value you get makes it well worth buying.
